Himalayan salt lamps have been gaining popularity these past few years and I was one of the many people who went along with the "trend" for I want to personally experience the benefits that it can offer to us. But the question that most people ask is, "Is buying a himalayan salt lamp worthy and is it really nice and effective?" Read on for I will answer that in a simple and practical way. No exaggeration and hard selling included. Hehe! "Salt is hygroscopic, so the lamps attract water molecules from the air; this means the lamps trap dirt, pollen, and smoke particles which are carried in water vapor. Once these airborne contaminants have been locked in the salt, clean water is re-released and thus it has a purifying effect on the air. Theoretically that is. Scientists know that salt does absorb water from the air but that it quickly reaches an equilibrium state (it doesn’t take up anymore water because it is saturated). This is the same for silica packets. Both can be revitalized by drying, which a burning and warming lamp does. So there is merit to this claim. What’s more is that the heat from the bulb inside that warms up the lamp releases negative ions. And there are the health-boosting effects of salt itself too." -www.criticalcactus.com As I have been researching before purchasing, I find that this is the best and simplest explanation that I needed to push me with my decision of getting a himalayan salt lamp. I bought my 5-6kg raw shaped himalayan salt lamp from Healing Crystals and Gemstones Makati for Php 1,800 plus Php200 shipping fee via Grab Express. What I like about using this is that it offers an adjustable dim warm orange light that looks relaxing and soothing on the eyes. Blue light from cellphones, TV's and gadgets, and fluorescent and/or bulb light could be painful to look at directly especially if you have photosensitivity eye issues like mine but staring at a himalayan salt lamp feels good. The downside with himalayan salt lamps is that, they kind of "melt" slooooowly through time. I have noticed that there were salt crystals falling around it whenever I wipe the table wherein the salt lamp was put on. They won't melt fast though so no worries and I think that it might take several years or a decade before my 5-6 kg himalayan salt lamp melt off completely. It happens because of the humidity, the moisture from the air affects the himalayan salt causing it to melt. Remember, do NOT wet your salt lamps for it will make them melt faster! The benefits of using a himalayan salt lamp are many but what I have noticed are these: Improves your mood, reduces stress? Check! Looking at the salt lamp is soothing not just for the eyes but it also has a calming energy that affects the whole vibe, y'know. Improves sleeping? Check! if you're afraid of the dark but bothered with a fully lit room, then the dim pinkish-orange lighting of himalayan salt lamps are perfect: not too dark and not too bright, just right! Increases blood flow, energy levels, and boosts serotonin level? Hmmm... I can't tell but I think it's more of like, if you've got a good night sleep, it helps well with good blood circulation, and if you are well-rested then you will feel happier, more productive, and healthier, am I right? Hehe... Improves breathing and reduces asthma symptoms? Hmmm, the air might be purified better than without this salt lamp BUT of course, you have to make sure that your room is regularly cleaned and not collecting weeks of dirt and dust to avoid getting colds and allergic rhinitis. You can't just rely on himalayan salt lamps to do the job, you gotta do something about it too! I don't have asthma so I can't comment on whether it helps with that kind of problem or not... A few weeks ago, my friend Riz Macahis gifted me a Himalayan Exfoliant Salt Soap and Himalayan Salt Natural Therapy Nasal Inhalers. I heard she is reselling these too so price is available upon request. Himalayan Crystal Salt Soaps are not like the common soaps that you use for bathing everyday. They do not lather with bubbles and all that stuff and they don't clean the skin the same way common soaps do BUT rubbing your skin with himalayan crystal salt bars can gently scrub off dirt, dust, and a bit of dead epidermal skin cells. If you wanna feel extra clean without exfoliating your skin the way body scrubs do, this is nice and safe to use. Also remember, do NOT leave this on wet surface for a salt soap, or any salt-based stuff for that matter, will melt on water! I find it best to use after cleansing your skin with your favorite bathing soap or body wash to make sure that any residue will be removed. Last April until the 2nd week of May, I had been suffering with colds. No matter what I did, they just won't stop, it's soooo annoying! When this was gifted to me, I immediately used it. After a few days, my situation has improved. Warning, it might be gross but the mucus kinda softened and became thinner in consistency making it easier to blow them out of my nose without the sinus pain that I used to experience whenever I did that. Since I've got 5 of these nasal inhalers, I compared them to each other and I have noticed that they smelled differently from each other. They all have peppermint essential oil in them alright, but some have a stronger scent while the other had little to no scent at all. However, I was given an assurance that it is alright since the healing benefits come from the himalayan salt themselves and are not reliant on the essential oil within. After a week, I got another 2 pieces of Himalayan Salt Natural Therapy Nasal Inhalers from Emilie, the seller behind the online store @fengshuicharms in Instagram and Shopee PH app. The scent of these two were more faint compared to the ones that I got from Ate Riz but the effects were the same on me. Both were able to help with reducing sinusitis pain and healing my colds. Whenever my allergic rhinitis, migraine, or cluster headaches attack, I just inhale this and it instantly gives me relief, after several minutes, the ain will subside and I'll be okay. As for having "sipon" once I feel like I'm starting to get it again, I just use a himalayan salt nasal inhaler and then after half a day, mawawala na sila! Effective, yes! These nasal inhalers contain himalayan salt rocks inside along with drops of peppermint essential oil. However, in some inhalers, the scent of the peppermint fades faster than the others BUT it doesn't mean that its effectiveness will be affected. As a matter of fact, the health benefits will remain just the same because the healing lies in the himalayan salt themselves. By the way, this is not the nasal inhaler that is recommended for kids and infants so don't use this on them! Emilie said that they will be launching a product soon that is safe for kiddos anyway so yeeeey! One of the best things that you can give to yourself is a himalayan salt bath! Yep, you read that right! Aside from exfoliating dead epidermal skin cells thoroughly to make your skin feel smoother and softer, and appear brighter, using salts in your bath can take away unnecessary stress and negative energies leaving you with a lighter feeling! Did you know that during the old times, salt were considered really precious that soldiers were getting salt as salary? The men of old knew that aside from that fact that salt are healthy (and yummy) when mixed with food, they are also used in rituals for beautification, prosperity, and expelling bad spirits! Wooohhh! This Himalayan Salt Scrub from @fengshuicharms is locally handmade with natural ingredients such as lavender, chamomile, calendula in sunflower oil, jojoba, and virgin coconut oil. I have been using this once a week for a few weeks now and I must say that this is effective. The himalayan salts removed dead skin cells gently while the oils infused in here moisturized the skin. Exfoliating your skin is a must if you want your skin to look glowing. Failing to do so makes your skin rough to the touch and dull to look at, you wouldn't want that! As for using salt scrubs, remember to rub them lightly onto the skin to avoid overexfoliation, irritation, and scratches. And in ending this blog post, I wanna share with you a secret that I have discovered. For almost a year now, I have been doing this bath ritual whenever I am feeling down, tired, and lethargic. Doing this helps in removing negative energy that is weighing you down, then afterwards, you will feel refreshed not just physically but also psychologically and emotionally! Try it to find out and see what happens! What you need? - 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or coconut oil will do) - 1 half cup of salt (rock salt, sea salt, epsom salt, himalayan salt will do) What to do? Mix the salt and oil really well. After showering with soap and water, rinse yourself. While your skin is still damp, spread the oil and salt mixture all over your body from your neck down to your feet. Let it stay for 3 mins. Rinse well with water. Observe its effect and it will be like as if a huge load was lifted from your shoulders! That's it, dear readers, you're welcome! 💖 For more Fengshui lucky charms, himalayan salt-based beauty and wellness products and more items, check out Feng Shui Charms at Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fengshuicharms and Shopee PH: www.shopee.com/fengshuicharms For himalayan salt lamps and healing crystals, visit Healing Crystals and Gemstones Makati at their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HealingCrystalsph/ For authentic preloved luxury branded bags and himalayan salt-based wellness products, check out Riz Macahis in Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/carlaine_m/ A few years ago, I saw Colour Collection's ad for the very first time wherein Bea Alonzo, my celebrity idol, was the endorser and since them I have been curious about this brand. By the way, did you know that their new Brand Ambassador now is Megan Young? Yeahhhh! That means that we, the simple citizens of the Philippines can copy the makeup looks of a Certified Beauty Queen without overspending! *clapping my hands at the background!!!* Colour Collection has released their new product this May which is the Colour Collection High Definition Iconic Matte Lipsticks. These lipsticks are specially formulated to give moisture-rich, vibrant, and high definition lips. It has a smooth lip color that glides right on with a silky matte finish that never feels dry. And so with that, today, I'll be sharing with you my first impression after using their makeups from bb cream and powder, to lipsticks, brow and lash mascara! Colour Collection's makeup packaging design is simple, classic, and clean. I am liking the no-fuss appearance that appeals to the adults, the yuppies, and the matured target market. 1) Colour Collection Whitening BB Cream (Php 599) The first product that I used was their BB Cream with skin-whitening benefits and UV protection. The BB Cream was easy to use that even if you're a beginner in using makeup, blending it onto the skin by using your fingers alone is not complicated. The formulation is lightweight and buildable from sheer to medium coverage. The shade of the BB Cream that was sent to me was one shade warmer and darker. I wish I got a lighter one however, it can be fixed by using a pressed powder with a lighter shade. I still have some dark spots and acne scars left drom a previous breakout that I had along the hairline and jaw line. Their appearance was somehow diminished after applying one layer of the BB Cream. A little bit can still be seen but a concealer and pressed powder can cover them anyway. 2) Colour Collection Pressed Powder with Vitamin E (Php 375) The 2nd product that I used was their Pressed Powder with Vitamin E. Luckily, the shade that was sent to me is a perfect match for my skin tone and I was able to correct the warmer shade of the BB Cream applied earlier. It wasn't too warm nor too cool. I have a neutral skin tone which is why finding the right shade is very crucial as I don't wanna end up looking too orange, too pink nor grey. Personally, I like the casing of thie Pressed Powder, it was made of a black durable plastic material that felt a bit heavy. It wasn't flimsy nor too thin, definitely not cheap-looking! In the photo above, I didn't use a concealer to cover my blemishes. Applying the pressed powder over the BB Cream was able to give an added medium coverage which greatly diminished the appearance of the dark spots. However, applying powder gives a matte finish so if you are going for a dewy makeup look, go easy on the powder! Selfie-selfie minus the glamour and heavy makeup, LOL! Here, I only used the bb cream (left) and added the powder (right) plus nothing else. The finish is not that flawless just yet probably because I need to use a concealer to cover all the blemishes completely. If you have clear skin though, I think you can skip the color correcting and concealing part. With BB Cream alone, I can achieve a dewy makeup look with some flaws still showing but with powder, dark spots are covered yet everything looks matte. So to avoid looking flat, using highlighters can bring out that "glow". However, if you have oily skin like mine, we have to set our makeup base with pressed powder to avoid the makeup from melting and sliding off our faces especially with this hot and humid weather! 3) Colour Collection Lipsticks a) Collagen Lipstick line (Php 350 each) b) High Definition Iconic Matte Lipstick line (Php 399 each) I got 2 shades from the Collagen Lipstick line which are Sweet Cocoa (a maroon red) and Indulgence (a neutral true red.) Collagen Lipsticks have a moisturizing satin finish. They apply smoothly on the lips and feels hydrating. Lip lines are not emphasized therefore making the lips look more plump. The color pay-off is decent and is buildable from medium to full coverage. I like that the colors I got are universally flattering for any skin complexion whether fair, light, medium, or dark. Since it has a creamy texture, they are not that long-lasting and stays on for only an hour or two without drinking water and having meals. Retouching is a must to make the color even on the lips again after eating or drinking for they easily transfer upon contact with any objects. The chances of the lipstick bleeding will be lessened by using a lip liner, that way, they will last longer. Another lipstick collection that they got is the High Definition Iconic Matte Lipstick line. True to its name, their finish is matte. However, it is a type of matte that is still a li'l bit creamy therefore it still has a li'l bit of sheen. Therefore, for me it feels more like a semi-matte than flat matte (which is kind of drying). High Definition Iconic Matte Lipsticks are easy to apply for they feel smooth and they are highly-pigmented. The formulation is neither hydrating nor drying and so before using this, I apply a tiny amount of lip balm to prep and moisturize my lips. The color selection that I have here are beautiful and wearable for daily use. Vintage Glam and Beauty Queen are warm-based light pinks that are flattering for fair and light skin like mine. I am not sure how they will look on morenas though because I haven't tried it with tanned skin just yet. The shades It Girl (dark neutral red) and Runway Ready, (dark plum) are perfect for both fair and dark complexions for thata strong, and bold lips vibe! Most matte lipsticks are longer-lasting than any types of lipstick finish for they are not that creamy nor moisturizing, therefore they tend to stay on the lips better. These lipsticks are not totally kissproof nor transferproof, however, they won't completely get removed after drinking and having a light meal (unless you ate greasy and oily food). Personally, I am satisfied with the quality of their two lipstick line for the quality of the products are not compromised and the packaging looks simple and classic. They are affordable as well. 4) Colour Collection All Day Wear Lengthening Waterproof Mascara (Php 399) Before anything else, I used the mascara as is without eyelash curler or eyelash comb (for separating lashes after mascara application. I naturally have thin, fine and short lashes. After using this mascara, I have noticed the obvious difference that it made on my lashes: they looked longer and fuller in an instant! However, the downside is that the mascara could feel clumpy during application with me ending up with spider-looking lashes. On the upside, this problem could be fixed with a clean mascara wand for removing clumps and separating lashes that stick together. The effect is not as dramatic as compared to when putting falsies but it helped emphasize my chinky eyes and making them look bigger. This mascara may be waterproof and stays on for more than 12 hours but it isn't hard to remove them with facial soap and water. 5) Colour Collection All Day Wear Brow Mascara (Php399) Again, for the Brow Mascara, I used the product as is - no spoolie and no other eyebrow makeups like pencil or powder as base so that I can see the effect exactly as for what it is. First, I noticed that the shade of the brow mascara is dark brown bordering to gray. I feel like it is too dark compared to my hair color but it matches the natural color of my brows so alright... The product is highly pigmented so you gotta use this product with a very light hand, like I mean VERY LIGHT HAND! As much as possible, wipe the excess product off before brushing it on your brows to prevent your brows from looking too dark and thick. Using this product alone helped me achieve the messy "bushy brows" look which is the opposite of the well-defined polished brows. Messy eyebrows may be a trend but I prefer a cleaner look so I guess I'll use this brow mascara only as a finishing touch after defining my brows with a brow pencil and filling them with brow powder. It is better to use a clean spoolie afterward to blend them well. This is my face after using Colour Collection BB Cream with added layers and blended with Real Techniques beauty sponge this time for heavier coverage and more even application; Vitamin E Pressed Powder for setting the makeup base, mattifying the face, and correcting and matching the shade of the BB Cream (which is darker and warmer than my natural complexion); High Definition Iconic Matte Lipstick in "It Girl"; All Day Wear Lengthening Mascara (no eyelash curler used); and All Day Wear Brow Mascara blended with spoolie and fixed with angled eyebrow brush this time. p.s. No other cosmetics from another makeup brand was used since I wanted to show the look that I can do with the products that were sent to me by Colour Collection. They may be sponsored but my product reviews in this blog, including all the pros and cons, are honest and based solely on my personal experience and opinion. Note that results may vary The Tupperware Brands Philippines Facebook Page has an ongoing promo that they can join to get a chance to win a special Colour Collection make-up package. Facebook - http://bit.ly/2nyuNVt Instagram - http://bit.ly/2nyPXTt Twitter - http://bit.ly/2nLMnVp Website - https://goo.gl/jP8BWE For many people with sensitive and/or acne-prone skin, finding high-quality makeup products that won't break their skin out is a must! I have been told by many before to just not wear makeup anymore to avoid allergic reactions but, let's be honest, most jobs, if not all, require us women to look presentable which means that we must use makeup, like for example the flight attendants, models, sales ladies, brand ambassadors, etc. Now the challenge is that, if you have to wear makeup everyday just like in the jobs mentioned, you gotta find cosmetics that are suitable for your skin type even with daily use. In my case, after many years of suffering from acne, I am glad that I have already found a local organic and natural skin care AND cosmetics brand that offer high-quality products that won't break my wallet! Natura Organics is a Philippine-based brand that I have discovered last 2015 in Instagram (their username is @realnaturaorganics but they have lots of resellers). I swear by their skin care products and I must say that their makeups do not disappoint, they are beautiful andand afforxable to. be honest! Through the years, I have witnessed their products improve better and better. Here are some of their makeups that I have tried, so read on! Natura Organics claims that their makeup palettes do not contain synthetic colors, dyes, talc, nano-particles, artificial preservatives, harmful ingredients, lead, metals, and silicone. They are non-comedogenic, cruelty-free, and organic/natural. Natura Organics Matte Nude Eyeshadow Palette (Php 1,299) Natura Organics Eyeshadow/Contouring Palette consists of matte, neutral shades of brown and nude. If you like the no-makeup makeup look or keeping your eye makeup to a minimum: no-fuss, no shimmer, just a natural-looking brown lids, then this palette is for you! What I like about this is that I can also use this as a highlighting and contouring palette. Since they have a matte finish, they will look natural on the face! Remember, when it comes to contouring, everything should be matte because you have to show an illusion of shadow on the face. The only thing that I ain't fond of is that some of the lighter shades blend on my skin too well... too well that they won't show up against my skin anymore. You can't see the color no matter how much product I apply. The good thing is that, they can be used as a good base for the eye shadow and I can also use them like a translucent face powder! Each pans are large enough so they will definitely last long! Natura Organics Artist Multi-Use Palette: Eyes, Cheeks, & Lips (Php 1,299) Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera Juice) Leaf, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Organic Argan Kernel Oil, Euphorbia Cerofera (Candelilla) Wax, Citrus Aurantium Sinensis (Orange) Fiber, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Butter, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Powder, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Powder, Camellia Sinensis (Black Tea) Leaf Powder, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Japanese Honeysuckle) Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Bellides™, Vitamin F Forte™, Zinc Oxide, Rice Powder, +/- Luxuriant Minerals™ This Artist Multi Use Palette is full of warm-based tints and shades of peach, pink, rust, and burnt red. I love that the colors here are trendy right now especially this summer season! Personally, I prefer to work with these kind of shades because they accentuate my neutral warm light skinton without looking too heavy. In terms of quality, I was surprised on how pigmented they are especially the darker shades. However, there was a li'l bit of fallout when I swipe it but I can manage with it anyway. Without a primer, the eyeshadow lasts on me for 3-4 hours (given that the place is not too hot and I ain't that sweaty) bit with primer on, they last for at least until 7 hours. Natura Organics Lip Volume Supra Matte Fluid Lipstick with SPF8 (Php 399.00 / 14 grams) INGREDIENTS: Plant Hydrosol: Aloe Vera & Cucumber; Plant Pigments: Pomegranate, Strawberry, Cranberry, Blueberry, Tomato, Lavender, Rose; Plant Oils: Argan, Jojoba, Meadowseed, Castor; Plants Extracts: Lemon Peel, Melon Peel, Tomato; Plant Butters: Shea, Cocoa; Vitamin F Forte TM; Luxuriant Minerals+/-; Titanium Dioxide +/-; Vegetable Glycerin With LIPerfection™️ a purified extract of an organic mustard sprouts, which increases the volume and hydration of the lips. Natura Organics Supra Matte Fluid Lipsticks is made with lip peptide technology that hydrates the lips giving it a healthier, plumper, fuller look. These liquid lipsticks have a buildable medium to heavy coverage. They smoothly apply on the lips and dry quickly with a flat matte finish. Some nude colors still show some lines of the lips though however, rest assured that once you wear it, it feels lightweight, non-sticky, and smooth. I have tried wearing them for a few days and they last long, for up to 4-5 hours of wear without having greasy meals. They are smudge-proof, transfer-proof, and smack kiss-proof. Try it! Unlike the other liquid lipsticks that I have tried in the past which felt like sticky paint or crumbles like powder, these lippies do not feel like that at all. Thank goodness! I really hate the feeling of dry like desert lips! Natura Organics Lip Pencils (Php 598 for all three or Php 299 each) These lipsticks are hydrating with sensationally smooth finish. Using these keeps lips protected and nourished with enduring beautiful coverage. Indeed a perfect balance of beauty and treatment. I like these organic lip pencils for they are highly-moisturizing and apply smoothly on the lips. It has a buildable sheer to medium glossy finish but not sticky like the common lip gloss in the market. This product line reminds me of tinted lip balms only with heavier pigmentation. Perfect for those who like it dewy looking instead of matte. By the way, at first I was confused when I used up all of the lipstick product that were peeking outside its case. I was told that I can just use any kinds of pencil sharpeners (as long as the lip pencil will fit, of course) to use the product inside the casing. Lip Pencils Ingredients: Plant Hydrosol: Aloe and Cucumber; Plant Oils: Argan, Jojoba, Meadow seed, Castor Seed, Peppermint; Plant Extracts: Lemon Peel, Melon Peel, Tomato; Plant Pigments: Pomegranate, Strawberry, Cranberry, Blueberry, Tomato, Paprika, Beetroot; May contain +/-: Luxuriant Minerals, Titanium Dioxide; Conditioner and Moisturizer: Vitamin F Forte, Vegetable Glycerin, Shea Butter, Avocado Butter, Vitamin E Leucidal, Vegetable Wax, Rice Bran Wax, Carnauba Wax Natura Organics Dear Teens: My Hot Kiss Creamy Matte Lipsticks SPF 8 (Php 329 / 5.2g) This My Hot Kiss Creamy Matte Lipstick Collection is included in Natura Organics' Dear Teens Line, a skin care and makeup line that has teens and young adults as its target market, hence the teeny-cutie packaging! As promised by Natura Organics, these lipsticks are lead-free, phenoxyethanol-free, paraben-free, weather-proof, non drying and extra-moisturizing, intensely pigmented and provides an easy application, certified organic, vegan, and cruelty free. They are carefully handcrafted and freshly made in small batches. They claim that they offer the safest lipstick in the market. It contains SPF 8 and UVA/UVB. First of all, these five lipstick colors are the only ones that I have amongst the many other shades that they already have in this collection. Momoko is a warm peach nude, Kiyomi is a cool nude-mauve, Hana is a coral-pink, Kaona is a neutral hot pink, and Saika is a bright tomato red! All of these 5 colors are suited for Asians and perfect for light to medium skin tones like mine (they have darker shades for morenas too). As for the formulation, it is well-pigmented, 1-2 swipes is enough to give an opaque color on the lips. It is moisturizing and non-drying on the lips, applies smoothly and easily on the lips. It lasts on me for more or less 3 hours without eating or drinking. It smells nice too in a sweet way for the ingredients that were used are organic and natural! However, since the formula is creamy, they tend to smudge and bleed so using a lip liner prior to application will be better. If you look at my lip swatch, you'll notice that my lips looked smoother and the fine lines were not emphasized. INGREDIENTS Plant Hydrosol: aloe vera & cucumber; Plant Pigments: Pomegranate, Blueberry, Matcha, Beetroot, Cranberry, Tomato, Lavender, Rose; Plant Oils: Argan, jojoba, meadowseed, castor; Plant extracts: Lemon Peel, melon peel, tomato lycopene; Plant Butters: shea, cocoa; Vegetable Glycerin, Vitamin F Forte™, Leucidal™; May contain: Luxuriant Minerals +/- Titanium Dioxide +/- Natura Organics Supra Matte Liquid Lipstick (Php 279.00) Natura Organics Supra Matte Liquid Lipsticks are 100% natural, using certified organic ingredients, vegan and gluten-free. Organic anti-oxidant rich jojoba, argan & meadowseed oils deeply nourish & moisture lips. Naturally-derived organic butters (cocoa & shea) are soothing, hydrating & also have regenerative properties to help heal dry lips & improve elasticity. They have a toxin-free formula & has zero lead. FYI: Lead is a known neurotoxin, reproductive toxin and carcinogen. It’s one of the chemicals we know the most about regarding adverse effects due to exposure. What’s problematic is that lead builds up in your body over time. Even a little bit ingested every day can add up over time. And experts say there’s no safe level of lead exposure. Supra Matte Liquid Lipstick Line has SPF 8 UVA/UVB properties that protects the lips under sun exposure. These lipsticks have a flat finish, opaque and intense pigmentation; long-wearing and transfer-proof formula; and free from lead and parabens. Now for my review, what I love about these lippies is that aside from being vegan and cruelty-free, they also smell delicious like choco nuts (brownish shades) and fruits! Texture is smooth, the feel light-weight, non-sticky and non-greasy like you're wearing nothing on the lips. Once it has completely dried up, it is hard to remove unless you eat a greasy meal or drink too many glasses of beverage. About the color pay-off, they differ depending on the colors: the brown-based shades like Karmina, Sarra, and Thea can achieve a flat and opaque look in just 1-2 swipes. The shades Mei and Lia have buildable opacity. I have achieved that effect on the pic after 3 swipes. Sophia and Tien have sheer to medium coverage. I find it better to reapply another layer once the first one has completely dried up. If you keep on reapplying too much product without waiting for the first layer to dry first, they tend to get uneven and streaky. All in all, the colors that I have here are all winners for they are flattering on warm and neutral skin tones. However, the shades Lia and Tien, I personally find them hard to pull off because I rarely wear purple and dark lipstick shades. My top 3 favorites out of the bunch are Mei, Thea, and Sarra! Natura Organics Dazzling Highlighter Beam with Angelic Radiance in Aceya shade (Php 599.00) and Natura Organics Wink Metallic Eyeshadow in Singles Highlighter: a makeup artist’s secret for bringing light onto the skin. Natura Organics' Dazzling Highlighter blends seamlessly and leaves a sheer, romantic sheen. This is great to use anytime, anywhere, and on anyone who needs a little illuminating love! . This is hypoallergenic: non-irritating, will not clog pores, suitable for all skin types, and gentle enough for extra sensitive skin. The shade Aceya is a shimmering copper highlight. I honestly think that this shade is best-suited for people with morena and dark complexion. For someone like me with fair skin, it can't be used as a highlighter coz it is obviously too dark for that purpose BUT I can use it as a bronzer, eyeshadow, and lipstick topper if I want it with a bit of shimmer on! I must say that this is really pigmented and a little bit can do the trick! Natura Organics Wink Metallic Eyeshadow in Singles (free when you purchase a makeup palette) Give your eye makeup look a modern, funky touch! Wink's sheer wash of hydrating color enlivens and enhances the eyelids while it delivers essential antioxidants to the delicate eye area. It encourages blood circulation and helps soothe inflammation. I rarely put glitters on my eye makeup but it is fun to do if you're going on a night-out! Oh how I miss those gimik and party-party days, seriously! As a full-time mom, I can't just go out on a whim whenever I want to unlike when I was still single! As for now, I'll save these metallic eyeshadow toppers for future use, konting tiis na lang, haha! Wink Defining Liquid Eyeliner (Php 299) Captivate with sexy definition for your eyes. None of the aging, drying or irritating chemicals found in conventional formulas. Just deep, rich, smudge-able color that glides on gently without skipping or pulling on your delicate lids. This Eyeliner includes Coconut and Chamomile for ultimate soothing and nourishment. Wink Defining Liquid Eyeliner Ingredients: (100% Organic, 95.7 Organic, 97% Vegan) Organic Coconut Oil, Organic SunflowerSeed Oil, Castor Seed Oil, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Argan Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Maracuja Oil, Coconut Stearic Acid, Safflower Seed Oil, Chamomilia Essential Oil, Organic Black Tea Pigment, Black Currant Pigment, Blackberry Pigment, Coffee Arabica Powder, Treated Titanium Dioxide , Organic Rosemary Extract, Organic Lavender Extract, Tocopherol Vitamin E, Leucidal™ ------------------ Natura Organics Wink Eyeliner and Eyebrow Pencil in Caramel (Php 249) They claim that this product is waterproof and sweatproof. I agree that it would take more than just sweat and a li'l bit of dip in the pool to totally wash this off your brows but it isn't hard to remove them with soap and water which is good as I don't wanna scrub my brows off everyday (lakas maka-wrinkles kaya!). The color payoff is good, highly-pigmented for the brows actually and a bit waxy so if you gotta apply it, do so lightly to avoid looking overdone. It is nice that it comes with a spoolie so blending it on the brows is easier. To get this look below, I used Natura Organics Wink Eyebrow Pencil in Caramel on my brows, the Artist Multi-Use Palette on my eyelids and cheeks, the Matte Nude Eyeshadow and Contour Palette for contouring my face, the Wink Defining Liquid Eyeliner for emphasizing my eyes, and Dear Teens My Hot Kiss Creamy Matte Lipstick in Kiyomi on my lips. Facial massage rollers made of crystals have been around for a long time but ever since the popularity of Jade Rollers have risen these past few years, beauty enthusiasts and crystal lovers alike wanted to have these facial rollers in their hands. I for one wouldn't want to miss out on this, because first, anything that screams "anti-aging" makes me curious, and second, I LOVE CRYSTALS! I AM TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH THEM! (That I literally study and read about them, their physical and metaphysical properties EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 3 years!!!) So yes, in short, I have to have this, no questions asked. As of this writing, I own 3 kinds of crystal massage rollers that are made of different materials: jade, rose quartz, and amethyst. My first one is a Jade Roller. I bought it last 2016 when I stumbled upon an online store in Instagram who was selling hers for an affordable price. Sadly, this said account is no longer active hence I couldn't recommend buying from her anymore. Anyway, I was happy that mine is really made from genuine jade as fakes have been circulating around! One of the reasons why I bought this was because at that time, I was pregnant and I have read that using a jade roller helps in lessening the swelling and puffiness of the face. Today, I'll be discussing the history of crystal facial rollers, their benefits in the body, and the crystals' metaphysical properties. Read on! "Jade is the name shared by two distinctly different minerals - Nephrite, a calcium magnesium silicate, and Jadeite, a sodium aluminum silicate. Nephrite generally occurs in creamy white, mid- to deep olive green, brown and black. It has a smooth surface polish with a waxy sheen and is more commonly found. Jadeite may be a white-gray green, leafy green, blue or blue-green, emerald green, lavender, pink, red, orange, greenish-black or black. It is hard and lustrous, rarer than Nephrite, and usually more expensive. Translucent, emerald green Jadeite, colored by traces of chromium, is called Imperial Jade and is the rarest and most valuable." - www.crystalvaults.com Jade rollers are renowned beauty tools that came from ancient medicinal tradition. The Chinese people used to call jade as "The Stone of Heaven", it is a prized gemstone not only in China but worldwide. It was said that jade represents wealth, health, prosperity, and longevity. They believed that jade brings luck to the wearer and that if you gift jade to someone else, it also brings luck to the giver as well. Jade was believed that it protects its wearer from harm. In the old times, Jade Rollers were reserved for the royalty, the nobles, and the elite. The Mayans and African Egyptians used them too thousands of years ago and I have also read that jade rollers have been around for as early as the 7th century! Wow! So apparently, the practice of using jade rollers is not new but thanks to the internet and the social media, they are making a comeback and looks like the trend is gonna stay for a long time, possibly and hopefully forever! 😆 Why Use A Crystal Facial Massage Roller? First, convenience. If you're tired from working all day, your eyes are tired shut, your facial muscles can't smile anymore, the first thing that you want is a facial massage. However, not everyone can go to a spa or call a masseuse instantly so having a jade roller nearby for instance, can give you a quick fix! Second, it can be used on the neck, arms, legs, and other parts of the body too so if something is aching, just roll it! 😂 The coolness of the gemstone helps minimize the size of the pores while the rolling action of the tool promotes lymphatic drainage which in turn reduces the puffiness of the face and tired eyes. Regular facial massage tightens, sculpts, and firms the skin so it prevents the premature signs of aging such as the appearance of wrinkles, large pores, and sagging skin. Aside from reducing puffiness, bloatedness, and stress from muscle pain, it also helps the skin absorb skincare products such as oils, serums, and moisturizers making them more effective! How to Use: Roll over your skin, always in an upward motion, massaging the face, neck, and eyes gently to help prevent wrinkles and decrease puffiness. Use daily for 5 to 10 minutes (or whenever you feel like using it: while watching the TV, reading a book, countinf the stars before you fall asleep, etc). How to Take Care of Crystal Facial Rollers: Wash with mild soap and water (if it got in contact with dirt and sweat) when needed, and wipe it dry afterwards. Even my baby loves jade rolling (or rose quartz/amethyst rolling for that matter!) Yes, facial massage is good not just for adults but also kids! Plus, according to my son (who refuses to have a pic taken with facial rollers), it feels good using it! "Jade rolling feels like a tension-relieving, relaxing facial massage which helps to drain lymphatic fluid that is held stagnant beneath the tissue. This fluid acts as a “bath water” of sorts for the cells, refreshing and replenishing nutrients. But if the lymph system is not in motion, this fluid can hold onto toxins and tension held in our face by jaw clenching and everyday facial expressions from stressors, causing blockages. Jade rolling gets things moving again, opening these blockages and aligning the system to boost circulation, cell turnover and promote healing, holistically. By allowing the facial tissue to deeply relax, we can move this fluid out and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. By flushing the toxins out of the body via the lymphatic drainage and releasing the blockages in the tissues, it also allows the flow of lymph and energy (chi) in the meridian system, achieving harmony and balance. Many clients describe their jade rolling experience as “uplifting” for their cheekbones and jawline and “brightening” for their complexion." -www.dermstore.com When it comes to facial massage rollers, other crystals and/or stones can be used as well and its beauty tool function remains just the same. However, only the physical appearance and the metaphysical properties will change since the components and minerals wherein they are made of are different. The second type of roller that I got is made of Rose Quartz which is popularly known as the "Stone of Love". If you have been following my blog and Instagram, you know that this is my favorite crystal ever! Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family. This crystal is made up of silicon dioxide. It’s sweet, soft pink hue is the result of both the many, tiny inclusions of pink fibers, known as dididumortierite, within the glassy stone that keep it from being totally transparent, and irradiation. Rose Quartz is also sensitive to sunlight so it is best to avoid prolonged sun exposure (although charging this crystal under 1 hour sun exposure maximum once a month won't hurt, but let's talk about that next time!) If you are curious why Rose Quartz is good for energy use, it is because Silica (or Silicon Dioxide) is responsible for cross-linking collagen strands which contributes to the strength, integrity, and flexibility of connective tissues such as those found in skin, bones, nails, and arteries. Silicon (not silicone) is also important for the growth of hair, skin and fingernails. However, exposure to crystalline silica (silicon dioxide) dust is a potent respiratory hazard when inhaled so yes, just avoid Rose Quartz, or any type of crystals, except salt which is safe for consumption, in powder form. At the Crystal Healing Seminar that I attended, we were told that when our body senses the presence of a certain mineral nearby, it inspires the body to produce that kind of mineral within. So for example, when a person uses Rose Quartz, which contains silicon, on a daily basis, our body produces more silicon, therefore affecting our physique in a way that we can look blooming and young. Remember, collagen is usually used in anti-aging products? "Rose quartz has been used in love rituals and ceremonies for centuries. The rose quartz stone meaning is one of unconditional love. The way it facilitates love entering your life is through it’s ability to bring your consciousness to a higher level. Helping you to forgive, understand and see fights or situations from a different perspective, rose quartz healing properties will imbue you with the wisdom to deepen your connection with your partner. In that same way, rose quartz properties provide gentle energy that assists you in recognizing your own need for compassion. It allows you to see that you deserve forgiveness and understanding from yourself. Associated with the element of water, rose quartz healing properties are naturally fluid. They wash out toxic energies and emotions that you have trapped inside of you." - www.energymuse.com I got my Rose Quartz Anti-Aging Therapy Roller from @faithhopeloveskinfood, a Philippine-based online store in Instagram. At the price of Php 1,800, the tool comes with a manual (instructions, benefits, illustration, etc) all encased in a simple yet chic marble-printed box. My third facial massage roller is made of Amethyst, a crystal that belongs in the Quartz family that usually comes in light purple, purple, violet, and deep violet colors: the kind of shades that represent royalty! Did you know, "amethyst’s most common ancient application was to prevent drunkenness. The word amethyst comes from the Greek word amethystos, meaning “non-intoxicating.” Wise men in the Greek and Roman era were known to drop a piece of Amethyst into their wine to neutralize the alcohol." -www.shimmerlings.com Amethyst is a macro crystalline variety of Quartz with the chemical formula SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide). Mostly occurring as purple, lilac or mauve in colour, the purest form is colorless. Experts attribute the purple color of amethyst to small amounts of iron (Fe4+) impurities at specific sites in the crystal structure of quartz. Some amethyst, when exposed under the sunlight for a very long period of time, loses its color so it is best to avoid that. Some amethysts are being baked to achieve a deep yellow coloring that resembles Citrine. However, amethyst can also be naturally developed underground along with Citrine which makes them "Ametrine". Amethyst is a protective stone linked to the crown chakra. When a person regularly works with a piece of amethyst, it helps in purifying the mind and clearing negative thoughts such as stress and anxiety, and enhancing one's intuition and mind's focus. When a person's mind is clear, his decision-making becomes rational therefore making more intelligent choices in life, including career and money-related stuff. When that happens, retaining wealth becomes easier as impulse buying and addiction become suppressed. Displaying an amethyst cluster at home or the workplace is good because it affects the energy of those around it. It relieves too much tension so everybody won't be so stressed out and just calm down. Remember, a still and focused mind can produce better performance in work and at home. My Amethyst Roller is from @jade_roller in Instagram. This is being sold for Php 2,750 and it comes with a sleek dark-colored box with a manual/product description inside. Which One is the Best and Which One Should I Choose: Jade, Rose Quartz, or Amethyst? First, all these crystal facial massage rollers function just the same in a beauty tool sense. They fulfill the very same purpose of massaging your fave (and body), of tightening, sculpting, and firming the skin, and of improving your blood circulation. However, which one should you choose depends on what you want and what you need. When it comes to crystals, I advise the person to choose the one that attracts them the most. Why? Because when you are drawn to a certain crystal, it is your subconscious' way of saying "this is what I need at this moment". But if you are attracted to all of them yet your budget permits you to get only one, here is my advice: If you need improvement on your overall health and wealth, choose jade. If you crave improvement on self-love, platonic love, romantic love, or marital love, etc, choose rose quartz. If you want to control your temper, anger issues, anxiety, stress, and mental problems, choose amethyst. Remember, nobody can totally prevent one's self from getting old and showing the signs of aging. However, using crystal facial massage rollers can help slow down the process so you can enjoy your youthful appearance for a longer period of time.
Also, crystals only affect one's energy at most but it is not to be used as a total substitute of medicine to cure one's diseases and physical/mental problems. Crystals are not instant magic. For its energy to work on you, you have to use it daily so you get exposed to its metaphysical healing properties. It's like a vitamin that you have to regularly take before you see its effect. Crystals can help you only to a certain extent. You are the only one who can make decisions and take actions to see positive changes in your life. Good luck! --------------------------------------- If interested to buy, check out these sites: - Jade Roller Manila (for many variety of crystal rollers) - Faith Hope Love Skin Food (for organic skin care and rose quartz roller) Both of these online stores are based in the Philippines but maybe they can ship worldwide too, kindly send them an email if necessary.
