 Jade Roller, Rose Quartz Roller, Amethyst Roller, Crystals Collection by @iamkrishenriquez Facial massage rollers made of crystals have been around for a long time but ever since the popularity of Jade Rollers have risen these past few years, beauty enthusiasts and crystal lovers alike wanted to have these facial rollers in their hands. I for one wouldn't want to miss out on this, because first, anything that screams "anti-aging" makes me curious, and second, I LOVE CRYSTALS! I AM TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH THEM! As of this writing, I own 3 kinds of crystal massage rollers that are made of different materials: jade, rose quartz, and amethyst. My first one is a Jade Roller. I bought it last 2016 when I stumbled upon an online store in Instagram who was selling hers for an affordable price. Sadly, this said account is no longer active hence I couldn't recommend buying from her anymore. Anyway, I was happy that mine is really made from genuine jade as fakes have been circulating around! One of the reasons why I bought this was because at that time, I was pregnant and I have read that using a jade roller helps in lessening the swelling and puffiness of the face. Today, I'll be discussing the history of crystal facial rollers, their benefits in the body, and the crystals' metaphysical properties. Read on! The Chinese people used to call jade as "The Stone of Heaven", it is a prized gemstone not only in China but worldwide. It was said that jade represents wealth, health, prosperity, and longevity. They believed that jade brings luck to the wearer and that if you gift jade to someone else, it also brings luck to the giver as well. Jade was believed that it protects its wearer from harm. In the old times, Jade Rollers were reserved for the royalty, the nobles, and the elite. The Mayans and African Egyptians used them too thousands of years ago and I have also read that jade rollers have been around for as early as the 7th century! Wow! However, only the physical appearance and the metaphysical properties will change since the components and minerals wherein they are made of are different. The second type of roller that I got is made of Rose Quartz which is popularly known as the "Stone of Love". If you have been following my blog and Instagram, you know that this is my favorite crystal ever!  Rose Quartz Roller @iamkrishenriquez #krishxcrystals Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family. This crystal is made up of silicon dioxide. It’s sweet, soft pink hue is the result of both the many, tiny inclusions of pink fibers, known as dididumortierite, within the glassy stone that keep it from being totally transparent, and irradiation. Rose Quartz is also sensitive to sunlight so it is best to avoid prolonged sun exposure (although charging this crystal under 1 hour sun exposure maximum once a month won't hurt, but let's talk about that next time!) If you are curious why Rose Quartz is good for energy use, it is because Silica (or Silicon Dioxide) is responsible for cross-linking collagen strands which contributes to the strength, integrity, and flexibility of connective tissues such as those found in skin, bones, nails, and arteries. Silicon (not silicone) is also important for the growth of hair, skin and fingernails. However, exposure to crystalline silica (silicon dioxide) dust is a potent respiratory hazard when inhaled so yes, just avoid Rose Quartz, or any type of crystals, except salt which is safe for consumption, in powder form. Mostly occurring as purple, lilac or mauve in colour, the purest form is colorless. Experts attribute the purple color of amethyst to small amounts of iron (Fe4+) impurities at specific sites in the crystal structure of quartz. Some amethyst, when exposed under the sunlight for a very long period of time, loses its color so it is best to avoid that. Some amethysts are being baked to achieve a deep yellow coloring that resembles Citrine. However, amethyst can also be naturally developed underground along with Citrine which makes them "Ametrine". Which One is the Best and Which One Should I Choose: Jade, Rose Quartz, or Amethyst? First, all these crystal facial massage rollers function just the same in a beauty tool sense. They fulfill the very same purpose of massaging your fave (and body), of tightening, sculpting, and firming the skin, and of improving your blood circulation. If you crave improvement on self-love, platonic love, romantic love, or marital love, etc, choose rose quartz.
