Last Saturday night, I graduated from Mysterium Philippines' 6-week long Intro to the Tarot course. One may ask, do you need to have a background in metaphysics, esoterics, and divination in order to enroll? Not necessarily. You know why? I, for one, did not know how to read and interpret tarot cards during the first night of the class! I may have had a background about reiki healing, crystal healing, and astrology reading beforehand but with tarot cards, really, I didn't know how to read them at all! Some of my classmates have been reading tarot for quite some time and some of the others were just like me, who had no idea. But little did we know, all that would change soon. To give you a background, I had a tarot reading session with Sir Rob, the owner, 2 yrs ago prior to me attending this class. That is how I know that he is undoubtedly a great tarot reader! You may read about it HERE During that time, what he mentioned to me were accurate, however what he said to me back then about the future possibilities were only proven and started making sense after some time has passed, like when I asked him before about my husband's start-up art community page, he said that it will be good, and now to this date, it has hundred thousands of followers, and also when he mentioned that I was financially lackadaisical when I am comfortable, but once I sense that I am about to lose money and close to having nothing, that is the time when I become determined to work hard, earn more, and accumulate not just richness, but wealth. Oh yeah, I realized how he was really right about it when I started feeling the effects of my Saturn Return transit (more about that soon in a different post) and how that forced me to get up my ass and start using all my resources to make more money, money, moneyyyyy (yes feel that Capricorn stellium in 2nd house energy!!!) Also what really sticks to me was when he told me that, yes I am good at my role as being a mom and doing makeup-related blogging stuff, but there is still some potential within me that I have not discovered just yet. 2 years later, I think I know now what he was talking about. Back then, I was so busy attending to my newborn I didn't have the time and now here I am, fulfilling my duty in discovering that potential! So there, I took this course because first, I was curious, not to mention, fascinated and inspired by the tarot readers that I have met along the way, and second, I was gifted with a Rider-Waite Tarot deck (yet didn't know how to use it) which happens to be the deck that is REQUIRED to have for this class. So I was like, why not? Might as well go! What happened after the first night of that 3-hour class changed my perspective: tarot reading CAN resonate with anyone IF they are willing and eager to learn! On that day, we were taught how to read regarding a person's will, passion, and desire. Before this, I was kind of hesitant because I wasn't sure if this practice will resonate with me or if I even have the ability to learn it, but there I was, excited to read for my husband and my parents afterwards! Oh just imagine, I read for 3 people right away the day after we had our first class, and more on the next days that came after that. Guess I'm really that obsessed with learning, eh? Hehe! I was able to learn A LOT after 3 hours in the first class, no kidding! That is when I knew that it was all worth what I paid for and since then, I looked forward to attending each class every week. What I really liked about this course is that, Sir Rob taught us tarot reading in a way that we have enough time to understand each card per suit, little by little, slowly but surely. It was not that overwhelming because we didn't have to memorize all the meanings of the 78 cards in the deck all at once in 1 day! Every week, we had to learn how to interpret the cards per suit in the Minor arcana: wands, cups, swords, and pentacles before moving on to the Major arcana. In between the classes, we were highly encouraged to read for other people and to promote our tarot reading services (with minimal fee at first, increasing as time goes by) on our social media sites. Why? Because mastery can only be achieved through practice and without it, all efforts will be futile. After 6 weeks, we finally finished the course. By this time, we all already know how to interpret all the 78 cards in the Rider Waite deck. We were taught to interpret the cards intuitively instead of just following by the book, and yes we also learned how to use different spreads for tarot reading like the Celtic cross, 1 year forecast, Yes and No questions, and more. Yes, there is a method and certain techniques, but I won't divulge how to do that in this blog post, you have to enroll in order to find out! Haha! Oh, and once you have decided to join their next Intro to Tarot class, just message me, I may be able to help you get a group rate when we find like-minded individuals such as yourself! 😁 On June 30, we had our graduation, Tarot Night Sunday, held at Ella and the Blackbird. It was a 2 hour event where we can invite other people to have a reading with any of the Intro to Tarot graduates for only Php300 (yes, such a good deal)! It was fun because we weren't allowed to read for someone whom we already know well during the event - we had to endorse them to some of our classmates instead. During the event, I was able to do a tarot consultation for 3 strangers, with all of them giving me positive feedback which I really appreciate. It was a bit tiring, yes, but whenever you help other people gain clarity and a new perspective that is helpful and beneficial, it is very fulfilling! I totally believe in giving clients a positive tarot experience because each reading should be about empowering others! It is about helping them on how they can solve the problem by using their free will and awareness to create change instead of giving them a misfortune telling that would only stress them out! Who wants that?!? Tarot reading can tell possibilities, not destiny, because nothing is set in stone! Frequently asked questions: Do I recommend Intro to Tarot course? YES! If you are eager to learn and passionate, go! How much is the Intro to the Tarot course? Php7,500 walk-in rate Php6,500 early bird rate Php5,500 group rate (if you enroll at a group of 4 or more) Is this a sponsored post? I still remember buying cheap, affordable good quality cosmetics back then because I couldn't afford high-end brands. I still remember when I used to window shop and try out the testers there before going home from school coz there was an fx from UST to SM Fairview and it had been a 3x a week habit of mine! Yes, even when I was still active during my modeling days, Jazzy Cosmetics, Ever Bilena, Maybelline, in2it, Fashion21, were some of my go-to brands. In fairness, what I bought back then were all useful to me. Until today, I still buy Maybelline mascaras and eyeliners from Watsons coz they are my favorite! And yes, me and my husband still shop there for our toiletries, hair products, baby products, and even medicines for the family! Here are some Watsons items that I recently got: 1) Naturals by Watsons Shampoo & Conditioner Who likes buying hair products in bulk? Count me in. What I like about their own brand is that, these are very affordable and comes in big sizes! I find that it's more practical for the family coz everybody can use them. My faborite variants are the Argan and Olive shampoo and conditioner, if you haven't tried yet, you should! 2) Vitamins and Supplements for us and the kids Did you know, according to my friend who practices alternative medicine healing once told me, that VITAMIN C is the secret to looking young and healthy? Start giving your kids with them now like Ceelin Plus. Also, if you haven't been taking them, you should now because it helps in faster healing from fever, colds, and flu! Extra virgin coconut oil, yes! I swear by this. My mom made us drink one teaspoon a day of EVCO dietary supplement to maintain healthy glowing skin and a regular bowel movement. I also use this as cooking oil and also, in my weekly homemade body salt scrubs. 3) Toiletries Ethyl alcohol, emollients, petroleum jelly - these are a must-have in every household, they are some of the basic needs to be in stock! Balneum Intensiv is something that I rely to especially on those days when I get my urticaria attacks, they help in soothing the itchiness and lessening the redness. For mommies, After Bites Natural Soothing Gel js very useful for babies' diaper rash, even us adults can benefit from using it when we get insect bites! Also, the Blue Cross urine home screening UTI Test is a must especially for us women because we are more prone to getting UTI than men. This is very convenient to have at home when you can't get to lab clinics right away. 4) Nutrabliss Chamomile Tea Oh yes, calming tea, every busy mommas can relate! We need to unwind too, drinking chamomile tea can give us a quick relaxing moment from our stressful mommy lives, you know! Haha! 5) Jergens Lotions This is THE CLASSIC lotion that never fails to deliver it promises of giving you well-hydrated and moisturized skin!
