A Tagaytay get-away is never complete without visiting a restaurant that serves dishes that all taste exceptional! And so with that, we had our memorable dinner with friends in MASINGngo Restaurant! Tuguegarao cuisine is something new to me but it became unforgettable when I tried their Pancit Batil Patong for the first time! Read along for I will be reviewing their dishes and uunahin ko muna ung Top 3 Favorites ko: Pansit Batil Patong is a noodle dish prepared the Tuguegarao-way that contains shredded beef, carabao liver, carrots, green onions and a sunny-side egg on top. As what the restaurant owner advised, you should put the mixture of chopped white onions, soy sauce and Tuguegarao-vinegar first over the noodles, then eat a spoonful of the noodles along with the egg and the soup, which apparently enhances the flavor of the pansit batil patong dish! It's like a ritual being done in that province, interesting! For only Php 120 per serving, it is worth more than its affordable price because you won't always find a meal as good-tasting as this for that rate! p.s. After a few days, we tried eating the similar dish somewhere from Rizal, but mehhhhhh, mas masarap at malasa pa rin ung sa MASINGngo, no bias promise, 'cause theirs is still cooked and prepared waaaaay much better, halatang it was made with love, hehe! Just look at this photo below, picture pa lang nakakatakam na! If you're looking for some appetizers, well, their Sizzling Tofu is definitely one of my favorites! In fact, I was surprised that I fell in-love at first bite with this knowing na I wasn't that much fan of tofu in general at all! Ito talaga ung klase ng luto ng tofu na sobrang nagustuhan ko which rarely happens! It has the perfect combination of creamy, salty, sour, and spicy that my taste buds have been craving for! And because I LOVED this so much, we had some for takeout! It was really delicious kasi, haha! I might sound like I am exaggerating pero masarap kasi talaga. The green pepper in it is really spicy for my taste though so I gotta drink lot'sa water but it doesn't bother me, not at all! And of course, a night of eating Filipino dishes will never be complete without having a taste (more than that actually) of bulalo! MASINGngo offers two kinds of this dish: Special Bulalo (the one with sabaw, corn, some veggies, etc), and Sizzling Bulalo. First reaction? I was surprised by how HUGE the serving of their Special Bulalo is! For the price of Php 399, super sulit na sya 'coz I think it will be enough to serve 3-4 people! As in, ang daming sahog, maraming sabaw, and the best of all, ang KAPAL ng karne ng baka! (All caps talaga para intense ang katotohanan, haha!) This Special Bulalo served hot is perfect to counter the cold weather in Tagaytay for its soup broth is flavorful for the taste buds and warm for the stomach. The beef was cooked well: it was very soft and easy to chew; the bone marrow is so tasty and melts in your mouth nicely. I like that is doesn't taste too salty nor was it too bland, it was just balanced. And if you prefer to have your bulalo saucier, here is their Sizzling Bulalo. I find the sizzing bulalo version delicious as well. The meat was cooked well: very soft just how I like it and the flavor is more intense in my opinion. One of their bestsellers is this Longganisa Meal. For only Php 125, you get to have 4 pieces of longganisa with perfectly cooked sunny-side up egg and fried rice. The tasty meat was soft yet crispy. I like it much better than the usual longganisa's that I used to eat from other restaurants or buy from the grocery stores! Definitely a must-try! Even those who have limited budget will be satisfied with this meal! For those who are fond of eating fish, Binukadkad na Tilapia with Tausi Sauce is definitely for you! I am one of those people who like eating fish, and what more can I say if they are fried and prepared as good as this! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The taste of this viand was well enhanced by the tausi sauce. They complimented each other well for a balanced combination of sour and salty. You may eat this meal together with some bell peppers to add spice! The last but not the least, a gathering with Pinoy dishes will never be complete without the Crispy Pata! Sa lahat ng handaan na napuntahan ko, halos hindi na nawala ito, so you see, it is very easy to judge if the Crispy Pata that you're having stands out among the rest! My husband and our friend both loved eating Crispy Pata so much and the two of them said that this dish from Masingngo was cooked very well! Tamang-tama ang lutong at pagkakaluto para sa panlasa ng mga Pinoy! You may also order some adobong kangkong and isdang tawilis as appetizers while waiting for the main dishes! Our dining experience at the MASINGngo Restaurant was fun for the food is exceptional, the service is good, and the price is affordable! Now you see, those are the faces of happy people with happy stomachs, hehe! Actually we can all say that, lahat ng pagkain nila, masarap! We stayed for another hour or two after eating dahil nabusog talaga kami and of course, nagkwentuhan na rin. We all have our personal favorites though so our top 3 dishes somehow differ from one another. Overall, me and my husband were both highly satisfied with the food from this restaurant! It is perfect for a family gathering or for a group of friends! Meanwhile, here is the score that I solely and personally give to MASINGngo Restaurant: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Location: 9/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Price: 10/10 Will I be going back to MASINGngo again? Yes! Can I recommend this restaurant to others? YES! Definitely! P.S. Just so you know, if you go up to the 2nd floor, you will see this beautiful view!
