Everyone wants to have a radiant and even complexion regardless of their skin color. Whether you have light, medium, or dark skin, healthy glowing skin will always be attractive to look at. However, when we fail to scrub and exfoliate dead skin cells off, it will be dull and uneven. With that said, using a facial and body scrub is necessary to keep our skin in its top shape! One of the most promising facial scrub that I have tried is Kedma Exfoliating Facial Mask. It has dead sea minerals and plant extracts that are mild to use even on sensitive skin. It is paraben-free and cruelty-free as well. KEDMA Exfoliating Facial Mask ($70.00/ 100g or Php3, 500 in the Philippines Product Description: Consisting of natural grains blended with aromatic oils and Dead Sea minerals, Kedma Facial Mask exfoliates and renews the skin in minutes. This concentrated blend of Walnut Shell Powder, Jojoba Oil, and Chamomile Extract helps rejuvenate the complexion on and below the surface of the skin and makes the skin soft and silky. Product Review: The first time I used this, I immediately noticed the mild texture of the product. It is creamy, light on the skin, non-sticky, and easy to rinse off. The scent is mild and feminine and doesn't bother my sensitive sense of smell. I could say that this product acts more like a facial scrub because it doesn't work like the other facial masks that I am used to (clay mask, peel-off mask, sheet mask, etc). I left it on for 5 minutes before rinsing off. Afterwards, my face felt fresher, cleaner, and it appears to be a bit more radiant. Also, when I focused on looking at my nose where blackheads and whiteheads usually are, my pores appeared to be more "open" in a way that the comedones seem to be "getting out" of the pores. That made the blackheads and whiteheads easier to remove, which is why it is highly recommended to use a peeling mask after using this to finally get those gunk out! Below are the photo showing my skin without makeup (except for lip cheek and tint plus the fading eyebrow tattoo) : I know I still have some flaws and blemishes but their appearance is no longer that noticeable because my skin looks bright and radiant. To maintain healthy skin, I make sure that I exfoliate my face once a week and I use other skin care products such as toner, essence, serum, eye cream, moisturizer, SPF, and night cream regularly. Doing so helped improve my oily/combination/acne-prone skin. I know it sounds like a lot of work but I'd rather do it since healthy skin is an investment that my senior citizen self would thank me one day. Hehe! Anyway, we'll talk about my skincare regimen in another blog post! I enjoy the benefits of using this product because eventhough it is mild, it exfoliates my skin effectively without being abrasive and drying it out. This facial scrubbing/masking step is very important because it removes ugly dead skin cells that causes patchy dry skin that becomes more noticeable under makeup. If you look at my photo above, my foundation doesn't look patchy and cakey because the canvass (which is my skin) is softer and smoother in texture. DIRECTIONS Apply the mask to face evenly in gentle circles. Leave on for 3-5 minutes and rinse with warm water. Apply 1-2 times a week. INGREDIENTS Demineralised Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Paraffinum Liquidum, Glyceryl Stearate, Juglans Regia Shell Powder, Polyethylene, Jojoba (Buxus Chinensis) Oil, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Aloevera (Barbadensis) Gel,Camomile (Anthemis Nobilis) Extract, Dead Sea Minerals (Sea Salts), Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Collagen, Fragrance (Perfume), Carrot (Daucus Carota) Extract, Glycolipids, Ylang Ylang (Cananga Odorata) Oil, Citric Acid, Which Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana) Leaf Extract, Triclosan, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Ethylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone. To end this product review, I'll be giving this product a score:
Price: 3/5 It is considered a luxury skin care item hence the expensive price. If you have the budget to spare for a facial scrub/mask with this price, go ahead. If money is tight, better buy another brand that your skin is compatible with and of course, that you can actually afford for maintenance. Packaging: 3.5/5 The packaging is simple and chic. I like the nude beige and gold combination. It was sent to me without a box, just the bottle though but I appreciate that everything that I need to know about the product can be read at the back. Effects: 5/5 I like that it is mild yet thoroughly exfoliates dead skin cells. I like the fresh and clean feeling after use. It makes my facial skin plump, soft, and smooth every after use. I have not experienced any breakouts, irritation, and allergic reaction while using this. Will I buy again? Maybe yes. One bottle will last me for months, maybe even a year because a little takes a long way with this product! Let's say in a month, I'll probably use this for 4 to 8 times. Each time I only use approximately only 1 gram of the product. So if we compute it, 8 sessions x 12 months, it will be a total of 96 uses in a year. And if we compute the price per use, Php3, 500 / 96 uses, it will cost Php36.45 per use. Not bad for a yearly maintenance. What do you think? REMINDER: Results vary and what works for me may or may not work for you. If you have any skin condition like psoriasis, eczema, etc, ask your dermatologist first before using new products.
