Delicious Tea & Snacks for Pregnant and Lactating Moms!

Breastfeeding can be beneficial and rewarding for both mothers and babies, but at the same time, entails a lot of hard work which can be a bit tedious. In order to keep quality breast milk supply sufficient, it is essential to always stay hydrated because breastfeeding can make the nursing mother really thirsty! This means that we need to be sipping liquids most of the day.  But most important of all, the health and nutritional state of the mom must always be at the optimum to make sure quality milk is being produced for her baby. Although water is good, it can get a bit dull as well as lacking nutritional value and content.

In 2011, NatureEarth has introduced M2 concentrate tea drink. It is a known fact that malunggay is a good enhancer of breastmilk. And to further support this claim, a case study research was conducted by NatureEarth wherein twelve moms ages 18 to 33 years old with babies ages 2 weeks to 2 months old were asked to participate. Half of them were asked to drink one glass of M2 concentrate tea drink daily, while the other half were asked to drink 2 glasses. After a month of regularly drinking M2 concentrate drink, the 6 mothers who drank 2 glasses daily claimed they produced more breast milk. While the other 6 who drank only a glass did not notice any changes on the quantity of their breast milk.

On the second month, all mothers claimed to have an increased amount of milk being produced, including the ones who only drank a glass daily.

Then on the third month of continuously drinking M2 concentrate drink, everyone noticed that they felt better because no one got sick during the three-month period and there was an ease in bowel movement. Some mothers even claimed that their skin became smoother.

In my case, there were days that I was able to drink only a glass of the M2 Tea Drink and on some days, I was able to drink it twice: morning and afternoon. It was easy for me to prepare this drink since all I had to do is fill up the mug with cold water and add 3-4 tbsp of the tea concentrate. When I'm lazy, I use yung takip ng bote nito as a measuring "cup", fill it up twice and mix it in my drink, hehe!

Its taste was good, a little bit sweet but not too much and it isn't bitter either. My baby even drinks a bit of this sometimes coz it tastes delicious that even picky kids can tolerate the taste. 

I had been using it for a month and I must say that my milk supply is still going good. My baby seems satisfied and full whenever she latches on to me, she isn't fussy like as if may kulang. I don't pump so I can't give you a number of how many ounces of milk can I produce. Yes, my baby prefers direct latching and she doesn't drink milk from the bottle, even pumped breastmilk, however, she drinks a lot of water and eats many food since she is 1.7 years old already. My baby may look slim but rest assured that she is healthy, well-fed, playful, and energetic.

Aside from the M2 Drink Concentrate Tea Drink, I also like their Shing-a-ling snacks! Whenever I visit pasalubong stores in the province, I make sure that I get a few packs of shing-a-lings all the time. I think that is why my kids also love eating them! Actually, when they saw these products, they got so excited that after taking photos of 'em, they opened it kaagad and ate them, leaving only a half for me! Haha!

These snacks are fortified with moringa, a well-known galactagogue. The other ingredients are wheat flour, moringa powder, cheese flavor, salt, pepper, sour cream powder, food color, amongst many others.

I love how they taste like especially the cheese flavor! I maybe biased but it was really good. Well, the sour cream is yummy as well. I like that they are guilt-free healthy snacks that help with lactation somehow!
